St. John the Apostle Catholic School appreciates the guidance and leadership our councils and committees provide. We are grateful our students' parents show committment to their children and SJS when adding value to how the school is run. We encourage parents to get involved and learn more about opportunities by joining the School Advisory Council, Home & School Association or by signing up to be a Home Room Parent.

Home Room Parents
Each homeroom needs two parents and are expected to work together on all homeroom projects and events with the direct leadership and approval of the homeroom teacher.
Homeroom parents are meant to be the teacher’s right-hand persons when it comes to special activities in their classroom. Homeroom parents are not meant to do all the activities by themselves. They should reach out to the other parents from the classroom to get them involved and assist as needed.
They will organize three classroom parties: Christmas, Valentines (except Grades 6-8) and end-of-year. They will organize one teacher/staff appreciation lunch, assist the teacher with the class auction item for the school auction, organize the fruit sharing for the classroom, and several other events the teacher may need help with during the year.
To sign up to be a homeroom parent for your child’s homeroom, simply sign up at the Home and School table at the TAP Together Parent Night meeting, or
