My name is Israel C. and I am a 2018 graduate from St. John the Apostle Catholic School. I attended SJS for 3 years and was the president of the Student Council my 8th grade year. Before I came to St. John, I was home schooled for three years. But my dad felt I was getting smarter than him so he put me in public school. It was terrible! I was only there for two months before my parents made the decision to put me back in Catholic school. When I first came to SJS, I did not want to be here. But as time went on, I started to make really genuine friends, good grades, and really enjoyed being at SJS. The teachers at St. John treat the students as if they are one of their own children. They are kind, funny, and really friendly.
I enjoyed the many extra-curricular activities that SJS had to offer. I played basketball, volleyball, and was the captain of the LEGO robotics team. I also stared in the Christmas play as Rod Stark, Anchorman. In middle school, we went on field trips to teach us firsthand about many things. We visited the National Cemetery and prayed for those that lost their lives in battle. In seventh grade, we went to the zoo with our first grade buddies.
Family is the most important part of this school; we treat each other as siblings because the classes are small and we are always together. Students treat each other with respect. And we treat each other as a child of God.
If you are thinking about putting your child into a private school, think about St. John because we are always waiting for someone new to join our family.
